PRECISION AND ACCURACY SPORTS
Sports whose objective is to hit a target of various shapes and sizes (such as a pocket, hole, jack or bowling pin) using various means (such as a bow, firearm, billiard cue, ball or club).
archery
Sport that consists of using a bow to shoot an arrow as close as possible to the middle of a target set a fixed distance away.
shotgun shooting
Sport that consists of shooting at a moving target using a shotgun; the gun is loaded with cartridges to destroy the target in flight.
rifle shooting
Sport that consists of using a rifle to shoot projectiles at a target a given distance away; the goal is to hit the target’s center.
pistol shooting
Sport that consists of using a pistol to shoot projectiles at a target a given distance away; the goal is to hit the target’s center.
billiards
Games that are played on a special table; they use a cue to hit a cue ball either against two balls or to drive another into a pocket.
lawn bowling
Ball sport of British origin in which two opposing players or teams play on a green; balls (bowls) are thrown as close as possible to a target (jack).
petanque
Ball sport that originated in the south of France in which two opposing players or teams throw balls (bowls) as close as possible to a target (jack).
bowling
Game of U.S. origin that consists of rolling a ball down a lane to knock down pins standing at the end.
